well, the jay-oh-bee search continues but to no avail. i try to send out between 2 and 5 resumes a week, and the only people who ever get to me are evil temping agencies who say "the position you applied for an HR associate starting at 40K in Back Bay was actually filled but we have this lovely reception job available at a construction site in mattapan that starts at $8/hr, what do you think?" riiight.  i can't complain about the bait and switch though, because i am constantly placing ads for work that read "Gorgeous and Spacious One Bedroom on Beacon Hill! Dogs Allowed! Parking Available! $850/month!". riiiight

i try to buffer my hatred of work by having fabulous weekends though, and this one was no different. on friday i met jenny and kim for cocktails at the blue cat, followed by a fancy dinner at vox populi and cumulating with drinks at top of the hub where we met the cutest old man named Sal, who regaled us with stories of property management and his love for the aging Phyllis, all the while showering us with free drinks and business propositions.

saturday was spend shopping at the wrentham outlets where i ran into my cousin Maia who overnight has gone from a bumbling, socially akward high school student to this gorgeous college fabulousa with a 27 year old boyfriend! it makes me feel old, i tell you. I remember when this girl was born! she has always been my "little" cousin Maia! i suppose i can't hate on her, because if i recall correctly when i was her age i had a similarly aged boyfriend....but it still makes me feel old.

sunday was a day spent searching for the perfect beach. adam and i headed out midmorning onto route 3 to make our way to the Cape, and more specifically, to Scusset Beach.  That proved impossible though, since the beach was closed due to an "incident" of a mysterious nature according to the parking attendant.  We then tried to make our way to Sandwich Beach, until we were informed by a native that it was "much too rocky" so we abandoned all hope of reaching a suitable beach before tanning hours were over, when we happened upon Sandy Neck Beach in Barnstable, which was everything i love in a beach: clean, not crowded, and crystal clear freezing water. (i adore the atlantic ocean precisely because it is so cold.  i think i have been in a good amount of seawater (carribean, pacific, indian and mediterranean) and thus far i have enjoyed nothing as much as the shock of diving into the icy briskness of the atlantic. warm seawater feels too much like saliva.  and anyway it's not really swimming unless you can't feel your extremities). but i digress. this beach had the added bonus of being right in the middle a particularly cute part of Barnstable/Sandwich with lots of little fruit stands and crafty shops to stop in and explore (which we did). we ended the day with a fantastic ocean side dinner at Aqua Grille, and then adjourned home to watch a 3 hour Discovery documentary on alaskan crab fishermen:  $13,000 in three weeks!? maybe i am sending my resumes to the wrong place!
