i concur with today's Boston Herald's findings that the DNC is, in fact, a bust. I believe the exact term used was "business-killing bust", but i prefer to call it a "seat-on-the-T-creating bust", because for the first time in months i had a seat on the train both today AND yesterday morning.
boston is somewhat of a ghost town except for celebrities, delegates and shlemiels like me who could not get out of working. the governor of pennsylvania is having breakfast 20 feet from me in sonsie, and i am sitting here inventing projects to do in my abandoned office. lovely.
in other news, i have two new work-related hates. my first hate, is when people call me and the first thing they say to me after i answer the phone is "ummm yeah". this is not office space, speak dammit! and my second hate also refers to the phone, and it is when people give me their life stories before telling me what they want. for instance "my name is harold, i am from wisconsin, i am going to me getting my MBA at northeastern in the fall". harold, please just say "i need an apartment". i do not care where you are calling from nor do i care about your immediate academic plans. what i do care about is getting you off the phone as soon as possible so that i may get back to my game of literati. thank you.
