The Pink Shoe Diaries

so, every week it becomes clearer and clearer to me that i need a "networking" friend. someone who works in town, doesn't mind spending some money in order to make good contacts..etc. i am constantly getting invited to events through work (house tours, charity functions, cocktail hours) that could be so good for me career-wise. however i lack the balls to attend something like this seule and i lack the friends who like this sort of thing. it is a sad state of affairs. my brother offered to accompany me if there is "free booze and hot chicks". charming, i'm sure.

i was so late for work this morning (ah hour!) because the 7:30 commuter bus from derry n.h. was too full to let anyone else on. i swear, as soon as the bus driver said "sorry the bus is full" i dropped a veritable deluge of f bombs..directed at no one in particular..i just lost the ability to complete a sentence without liberal use of the F word. the other gentlemen at the bus stop turned to me and said "you took the words right out of my mouth". and then proceeded to mutter his own brand of expletives under his breath. the main trouble of missing the 7:30AM Bus is that there isnt another one until 8:50AM. and i have to be at work at 9. riiiiiiiight.

luckily my boss is understanding....or at least good at pretending to be.
