there are many things i like about newbury street. it may be my favorite street in all of boston. as someone who is a big fan of clothes in general..i think you find some of the more fabulous coat.hat.clothes.accessories ensembles in this area. i could sit for ours outside and just look at people's clothes. of course, some may find this unnerving, but it's all in the name of good critiquing.

my friend kate and i used to participate in a slighly more malicious form of this. you have to understand, when i was 18/19, even though i was immersed in the americorps culture thanks to my city year, i was incredibly judgemental...even more so than i am now...or at least way more vocal about it. but i digress. so, miss kate and i would walk around boston and yell ICA as we walked by people, and even take their piicture. ICA, you see, stands for Interesting Choice of Apparel. Kate even took it so far as to make a sign that says "ICA" with an arrow and have herself photographed next to the fashion perpetrator. As gabriel once said "if people didn't dress so badly, what would we talk about?"

that was then though, and this is now. i can walk by a girl wearing Uggs (ick!) with a flowery skirt and barely flinch. I can even deal with, shall we say :less-than-bootcut" jeans.

i still enjoy a well put together look though, even if i myself have been seen bumming around the stix of new hampshire with jeans-sans-belt, polo shirt and dirty adidas shell toes. remember when i wouldn't even wear jeans? not look at me! i own the old navy jean department!

(i have oodles of time to blog today, hence the blogging-flood. i figured i would spoil you, since i have been so neglectful lately)
