i have the flu. bah.

it was about time though. my immune system can only stand so much abuse before it gives in, and this weekend was filled with abuse....the good kind though ;-)

first of all, the wedding wrap-up. i awoke saturday morning refreshed and ready to go buy a wedding gift and wedding shoes (yes, i know it is considered poor taste to buy the wedding gift 5 hours before the wedding, but time management was never my strong suit). anywho, i picked up megs and we headed to the ssp on a mission. after securing fabulous wedding shoes and a fabulous wedding gift we headed to the "me" portion of the shopping excursion: the express blowout sale. how can you go wrong with a rabbit stole for $10??? we reined it in though, and i managed to make it home by 1PM, granted I was about $250 poorer but c'est la vie. megs and i decided that there is no such thing as debt on Vicki's Wedding Day. so, we met jill and andy at the hotel at 3 to pregame with champagne, get all dressed up and rock out to Britney. as usual, there were snafus involving time and we ended up busting up a mass at St Joseph's because we were an hour early to the wedding (why didn't any of us think to actually READ the invitation? i'll never know). so in our usual style, we headed to the sports bar across the street, in all our wedding finery, to pound pinot grigio and toast to The Wedding. soooo very classy.

the ceremony itself was absolutely beautiful, as was the bride. i laughed, i cried, i had a coughing fit during the vows. all very lovely.

the recpetion: we started the night as elegant schmoozers, working the room effortlessly with drinks in hand, chatting up everyone from friends of the groom, to relatives, to waitstaff. by the end of the night, my shoes were off, andy's tie was around my neck and we were standing on our chairs, like some drunken ode to Stonhenge, swaying to "Shout!" Props to the DJ for playing Hall and Oates, Thumbs down for not playing "Milkshake". inappropriate my ass! I was happy to finally complete the CottonEye Joe line dance without too much greivous bodily harm. All in all, a fabuolous night.

The morning after the wedding, after leaving our trashed hotel room somewhat guiltily, i headed up to NH to help Adam break in his new place. We had dinner at his bro's, where i actually acted domestic and peeled potatos!! and i think there was a football game on although i paid as little attention to it as possible. (As Beth noted "Sarah's looking at the TV....but her eyes are totally glazed over!" 'Tis true, i loathe watching sports on TV. I will watch the superbowl, but only because copious amounts of alcohol are involved. Anywho, after dinner, Adam and I headed back to his place for a Karate Kid marathon and sundae-eating fest. i will admit it, i had never seen the karate kid before but i loooved it. that ralph macchio is one hot P.O.A.

so here i am today, ill and drinking tea and hoping that i am not sick tomorrow because it's not like i can call in, being a newbie and all.
