We're Back, Baby!!
It's been tough going these past eight years. I felt extremely jaded. Like my vote would never matter. Like nothing I cared about would ever be important to the person leading our country. And that no matter what I did, who I voted for and what I supported would always be off kilter with what the American majority voted for and wanted, making me feel isolated and completely discouraged.
When Barak Obama made his victory speech. I felt like he knew all this. And that he was speaking directly to me. I'm tearing up know thinking about it.

And when I say "We're Back" I don't just mean Dems or Liberals or any one sect of the voting public. I mean America! What we were once and always should have been is here again.

Hooray for America! I am so excited about President Obama!
Yay America!
I was so happy/relieved/excited last night that I actually started crying. PJ and I popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate (and drank it all...making for a fun Wednesday morning, let me tell ya). I have never felt this way about an election in my life. It is truly a historic moment for the country.
What an awesome night. I cried all the way through both McCain's and Obama's speeches. It was beautiful.
I have felt the same way you have for the past 8 years, and so I'm just so excited and elated today.

kate - haha! Glad I'm not alone! I don't regret it, though. If any time called for champagne, it was last night! (o;
