Bring It On

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A HEAVY SNOWWARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 11 PM EST THURSDAY.

A SHORT DURATION BUT HIGH IMPACT SNOWFALL WILL AFFECT SOUTHEAST ANDCENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE MASS PIKE THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 10 INCHES ARE LIKELY...WITH MOST OF THE SNOW FALLING IN A 6 HOUR PERIOD.

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP AROUND NOON IN THE CONNECTICUT VALLEY...SPREADING EAST ACROSS SOUTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS DURING THEEARLY AFTERNOON. THE SNOW WILL QUICKLY BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES AND SNOWFALL RATES MAY REACH 1 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR FOR A TIME DURINGTHE LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. THIS WILL HAVE A MAJOR IMPACTON THE EVENING RUSH HOUR AS THE HEAVIEST SNOW AND LOWESTVISIBILITIES WILL BE DURING THIS TIME.

School closings were scrolling across the screen during the morning news.
My boss has already issued the "feel free to leave whenever you feel necessary/get home safe" email
I'm searching now for the perfect snowy day dinner recipe so I can swing by the market on my way home.
I have seen at least 3 plows come down the street outside my office.
.........And there hasn't been so much as a flake in the sky yet.

But the fact remains:

I LOVE SNOW DAYS

(especially when I don't have to drive too much in it)
(especially since I don't have to shovel)
(especially since we just got our Christmas Tree last night and are decorating it tonight and decorating a tree while it snows outside is so festive I might just scream).

I'm praying the snow doesn't start until late tonight so that I get an entire day off tomorrow. Sometimes I love working for the school district. (o:
Oh - and if you're looking for a good snowy day recipe, here it is. It's a chicken and root vegetable stew. It's a little labor intensive (due to all the chopping), but if you get the day off...ain't no thang! Plus, as an added bonus, it's totally good for you! Here it is:

Oh, Christmas tree!! I'm so jealous!!! But yeah, also looking forward to booking out of here early due to weather.

I'm psyched that I went to the store last night, so the snowy day dinner options are a'plenty.

Wooooooot! I love snowstorms! Unfortunately, I have a big experiment running so I can't leave early, even though work is closed.
