i have gotten very good at hiding the fact that i am a huge slob.

i spill everything on myself. i'm going to play the breast card and say that anyone with a C cup or more has a built in "shelf" that sort of naturally attracts messiness. but it's more than that.

i am just sloppy.

but as i mentioned i am very good at hiding it.

for instance: yesterday i had on my bright pink cowl neck sweater, black wide leg pants and bright pink pointy toed flats (they don't call this the pink shoe diaries for nothin'!). while brushing my teeth, i of course spilled a huge glob of toothpaste on myself and when i tried to get it out with water and soap and a blowdryer, i someone managed to make it much, much worse.

and i was already running late and changing the shirt would have meant changing the shoes and that is just way too much effort for me pre-coffee.

so i rummaged through my jewelery box (which is actually a 2.5 foot high set of 9 drawers with no organizational system to it whatsoever so rummaging takes some effort). and i found a forgotten pearl and silver brooch. i pinned it over the stain and was out the door.

and what's funny is throughout the day i was getting compliments on the brooch/outfit. peole actually thought the brooch came with the sweater. score!!

and today: i had on my dark teal long sleeved jersey shirt and black pencil skirt and i was almost out the door.....but not before i noticed the dreaded deoderant marks on the side. damnit!

my solution? throw on a black, v neck sweater vest and the outfit actually works BETTER now.

so i think as long as i always have lots of scarves, brooches and sweater vests on hand, i will never have to change my outfit more than once a morning because of slob-ness again!

and you know of do-rags were work-appropriate i could solve my hair problems just as easily.

I just want to let you know that I read your blog every morning - as I, too, am an office drone, and you seem to be one of the only people up at the same time as me! Your stories are great. Keep up the good ole AM posting.

Another boob-stainer here. I wish I could hide my stains like you do...I do EVERYTHING without clothes on to avoid it in the morning. dressing is my last step.
