more additions to our living room decor
and
(without odd looking clock/antique books)
i love shopping for "home stuff". seriously, i could wander around Pier One or Homegoods for hours and still not be done by the time you drag be from the store, cluthing a new placemat set/table runner/pair of candlesticks/ceramic rooster.
i am almost afraid to admit it, but i might like doing that more than i like SHOE SHOPPING (gasp!)
i just love how a throw pillow can bring a whole room together, how a pair of curtains can make your living room look twice as big, how the color red looks so good in a kitchen!!
also: let's discuss this painting for a moment
right now it hangs in our bedroom and i adore it. it is one of my favorite van gogh pieces. AND it gives me an idea.
i'm going to open a restaurant based on this painting. when you walk in, it will look like you are still outside. the floor will be cobblestone, and on the ceiling will be a sky painted in the style of The Starry Night . and there will be a giant awning coming out of one side of the room, under which will the dining area, which will be set up like the tables above. lots of candles and warm lighting, lots of plush oriental rugs over the cobblestone floor. very romantic and intimate without being too trendy.
i will call it "Vincent's".
and then, when it is massively popular, i will start a kind of chain. for insance we can have a Monet themed restuarant that is decorated like the Waterlillies series and call it "Claude's".
brilliant, right?
who wants in?
