ladies, you really need to rein your men in sometimes.

how many times have you been out in public and seen a man who is acting like a total ass while his girlfriend looks the other way? probably at least a few times.

if your boyfriend is an asshole, and i refer specifically to the girl who was sitting behind us at the Sox game last night, then you really need to keep a tight leash on him if you bring him out in public. especially if he is kind of a small guy who whose ass wouldn't be able to cash the check his mouth/actions write.

you know what i'm saying.

last night adam, danielle, james and I went to the game to celebrate danielle's birthday and we were having a lovely time, enjoying the game, drinking, having cotton candy eating contests..the usual Fenway stuff.

during the 7th inning stretch we all stood up like normal, and when James went to sit back down the guy in back of him had his feet in James's seat. so he asked him "could you please move your feet?" and the guy said "nope".

we all paused and looked at each other.

James asked again "are you serious? come on! please move your feet so i can sit down".

"No. I don't want to?".

can you believe this? and contrary to what you might think from his behavior he was not 8 years old, but around my age. 25 or so.

and James is a super nice guy! it's not like he was being a jerk to this guy or anything. so he says "Listen, we're both baseball fans. Trying to have a good time. We even have the same hat on. Why do you have to be a dick"

and the guy replies "'cuz i can".

at this point i turned around and looked pointedly at his girlfriend like "are you going to let him behave like that?" and she muttered "just put your feet down" and looked away.

of course he did not.

i swear i was almost more mad at her than at him. I love Adam to death but if he acted like that I would not hesitate to tell him to shut the fuck up. I would physically move his feet for him reather than let him get in a fight over something like this.

but of course Adam is normal and this man was clearly not.

So James went to physically move the guy's feet and he sort of kicked him in the side, before he grudgingly moved his feet. and although i am 100% sure that James could have kicked this small, angry man's ass, he did the grown up thing and let it go. although we did the non-grown up thing and talked sh*t really loudly about him for the remainder of the game. of course.

so my point is, if your boyfriend doesn't know how to act, it is up to you to show him. at the very least, you could stop him from mouthing off in a way thet would result in him getting hurt in a fight since I bet a drunker man would have taken that guy's leg and twisted it off.

and then we all would have been ejected from the game

and that would have stunk.
