there is more looting going on in this office than L.A. during the riots.

and by "this office" i mean "my desk".

i admit, i have a very centrally located cubicle. it is near the lobby, the breakroom, and the mail area. as such, there is alot of traffic around my desk...which i like usually because i get to see and talk to lots of people throughout the day.

however, the downfall of this whole scenario is that people who come BY my desk usually take something OFF my desk. and never give it back.

(i should also mention that the supply closet is one minute away from my desk..so it wouldnt be too hard for these peeps to mosey on over there and help themselves).

at first, it was not so bad. some pens here and there went missing, my ruler, a post it note dispenser.....but then it gradually got worse. the black rolly thing that keeps the tape in the tape dispenser? GONE! my wastebasket? GONE! my boxcutters (all 3)? VANISHED!

it is getting to be too much.

when the pens went missing, i put a little post-in on my cubicle that was like "do not steal my pens" with a little angry face man on it. this really made no difference, but it made me feel better..

but the wastebasket and box cutters were really the last straw! i sent out a somewhat scathing mass email that was just like "please do not take things from my desk, i need these things to work on projects that you all give me.." and so on.

the next step if this doesn't work? physical violence.
